poem by katy claire funke
i wake
teeth clenched on
chalk-sketched visions —
the stains
i tend
on mind’s pavements

i retrace
hues turned muted
by eroding psych-matter

with limbs outstretched
i protect
a powdery medium
from the mar of rain

a delicate care
for the art
i treasure:
my portrait
of you
