Hope

Collective weary
drooped
in trumpet vines
from the scaffolding
of our swallowed normal,
so today we’ll rest
with the hope of a
brighter tomorrow.

Bloom

Landslides may blanket
my mind in frigid numbness
but roses still bloom.

Afterglow

My eyes fall closed
to the repertoire
of dreams
where rests are removed
from fragmented speech.

Our lips hum as one
in the soft blush of sun

& reverie blooms
a sacred perfume
. . .

My eyes fall closed
to the landscape
of my soul
where your song replays
& I’m bathed in afterglow.
